OUR TAKE ON CENTURIES – OLD RECIPES AS AN ODE TO CULINARY HERITAGE OF THE REGIONBuilt on the medieval walls of an old salt trading post, Kaštil Slanica Restaurant, with its spectacular riverfront setting and stunning views of the Cetina River, offers an authentic dining experience. Opened three decades ago, the restaurant features traditional Dalmatian cuisine and the classics of the Dalmatian hinterland paired with exceptional selection of wines made only from autochthonous Dalmatian grape varieties.
En route to the restaurant, either by boat or by car, the phenomenal scenery will take your breath away. Once there, you’ll be greeted by ducks, grebes and herons passing between cattail, bamboo, poplar and plane trees, with the imposing mounting rising above them. Located just a 5-minute drive from the town of Omiš and the Adriatic Sea, so close yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of the big cities like Makarska and Split, our restaurant is a must-try both for foodies and nature lovers.
Our culinary offer is an ode to authentic Dalmatian cuisine, ancient family recipes, traditional ways of food preparation and local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. You wouldn’t want to miss out on our homemade peka bread baked on open fire and Swiss chard pie soparnik ( intangible cultural heritage of Croatia with the EU geographical origin label ), meat and octopus under the peka, traditional festive dish pašticada,dolce garbo and mouth-watering Dalmatian dessert rožata that dates back to Venetian times, frogs,trouts, eel brodetto, sardine saur and numerous other traditional local specialties paired with the selection of the finest Dalmatian wines.
