VEHICLE TECHNICAL INSPECTION DAYS

This year, from November 24th to 29th, 2025, a preventive safety action called “Vehicle Technical Inspection Days” will be carried out.

The “Vehicle Technical Inspection Days” action is being conducted at all vehicle technical inspection stations throughout the Republic of Croatia, under the patronage of the National Road Safety Plan of the Republic of Croatia, in cooperation with the Croatian Automobile Club and the Vehicle Center of Croatia.

The action is primarily focused on providing the opportunity for free vehicle inspections at technical inspection stations, while encouraging drivers to proactively check the condition of their own vehicles in a timely manner to ensure safe participation in traffic.

What can citizens expect?

During the vehicle inspection, the following will be checked:

• general condition,
• brakes,
• vehicle undercarriage,
• exhaust emissions, and
• lighting and signaling systems.

The aim is purely preventive, and the vehicle inspection is conducted free of charge for all vehicle owners and drivers who appear at the inspection with a request to have their vehicle inspected and its technical condition or defects determined. The emphasis is on providing advisory and technical assistance from qualified personnel at vehicle technical inspection stations.

The purpose of the action is to draw drivers’ attention to the importance of vehicle technical condition in the context of road safety, as the vehicle, along with the driver and the road, is a key safety factor.

Notes for participants:

• the free vehicle inspection in this action does not replace the regular technical inspection;
• vehicles that have a legal obligation to undergo technical inspection and registration during the aforementioned action period are excluded from this action;
• as part of this action, owners whose vehicles are found to be technically defective will not be sanctioned; instead, after being advised on how to remedy the defects, they will be referred to an authorized service center with the aim of eliminating any identified deficiencies in the vehicle.
