The Cultural and Artistic Society “Mosor” from Gata, in collaboration with the Croatian Cultural Assembly, the SKUD of Split-Dalmatia County, and with the support of the Town of Omiš, is organizing a two-day seminar on the folklore heritage of Poljica.
The instructors are eminent Croatian folklorists and choreographers Vidoslav Bagur and Ivan Vidić. The seminar will take place at the Cultural Center in Gata on December 5th and 6th, 2025. It is part of the Croatian Cultural Assembly’s educational cycle for 2025 and focuses on the stage application of folklore with an emphasis on the traditional heritage of Poljica.
The program lasts two days and consists of theoretical lectures, demonstrations, and practical work with participants. It is designed so that participants acquire specific knowledge about the traditional heritage of Poljica, which they will be able to apply in their work with their own folklore groups.
The seminar brings together folklore group leaders to enhance their leadership and stage skills and enrich their knowledge of local traditional heritage. All interested parties can register for the seminar, and for members of the Croatian Cultural Assembly who regularly pay their membership fees, this seminar is free of charge.
All details about the program, registration, and accommodation options will soon be published on our website and social media, as well as on the Croatian Cultural Assembly’s website.
The seminar instructors are Mojmir Golemac, dancer, pedagogue, choreographer, and maestro Dražen Kurilovčan. The seminar is part of the European Heritage Days 2024 program under the motto “Heritage that Connects – Cultural Routes and Networks.”
The seminar will be held in Karlovac at the premises of FA “Ivan Mažuranić” (Home of the Croatian Armed Forces “Zrinski”, M. Držića 4, 2nd floor) starting at 10:00 AM. Arrival is possible from 9:30 AM.
