\u2014 About the Production<\/strong><\/p>\n “Bijelo” (White) is a play written by Dubravko Mihanovi\u0107 that presents a casual conversation between two house painters in the middle of their work – a dialogue started to pass time during a hot summer morning. This warm, comedic, and melodramatic story explores the timeless lesson that ultimately, the only important thing in life is to be a good person.<\/p>\n \u2014 The Story<\/strong><\/p>\n The main protagonists are an experienced master painter and his enthusiastic apprentice nicknamed “Mali” (Little One). This is a classic clash of opinions between two generations – the older, experienced Master and the simple-hearted, enthusiastic Mali. Without intending to achieve anything concrete beyond the illusion of time passing, they touch on topics ranging from sports philosophizing to food, love, women, success, and other life themes, somehow finding grains of comfort and life wisdom.<\/p>\n \u2014 Character Dynamics<\/strong><\/p>\n The Master is a widower who has found more than just an apprentice in Mali, while Mali is a maladjusted and shy young man for whom the Master becomes a life mentor. Their relationship transcends the mere master-apprentice level and takes on elements of a father-son relationship. Their search for mutual understanding, combined with their intention to ultimately paint the apartment and complete the job they’re paid for, is filled with numerous comedic situations, misunderstandings, and existential life moments.<\/p>\n \u2014 Creative Team<\/strong><\/p>\n The play was created through the collaborative directorial work of Branimir Raki\u0107, Donat Zeko, and Ivan Baranovi\u0107. Branimir Raki\u0107 plays the Master while Donat Zeko portrays Mali. Ivan Baranovi\u0107 is part of the creative team as producer, professional collaborator, and understudy.
